The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and effective chemistry lessons to students, fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment, and contributing to the overall academic and personal development of our students.Responsibilities:•Develop and implement a comprehensive and challenging chemistry curriculum in line with national and school standards.•Design lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.•Deliver high-quality and interactive chemistry lessons to students, ensuring the use of innovative teaching methods and technology.•Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation.•Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments.•Provide constructive feedback to students and parents on academic performance, and work collaboratively with colleagues to address individual learning needs.•Supervise and organize laboratory activities, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for practical experiments.•Demonstrate and guide students in proper laboratory techniques and safety procedures.•Actively participate in and support extracurricular activities related to chemistry, such as science clubs, competitions, and field trips.•Stay updated on the latest developments in chemistry education, teaching methodologies, and technology through continuous professional development.•Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and contribute to the school's academic community.•Establish effective communication with parents to provide updates on student progress, share insights into the curriculum, and address any concerns in a timely and professional manner.•Collaborate with fellow teachers, department heads, and school leadership to contribute to the overall success and development of the school.Qualifications:•A degree in Chemistry or a related field; a postgraduate degree and teaching qualification (PGDE or equivalent) is desirable.•Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) or equivalent certification.•Proven experience teaching chemistry at the secondary level.•Strong knowledge of the British National Curriculum for Chemistry.•Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
