Construction Site Safety Officer

Responsibilities:Developing, implementing, and enforcing safety policies and procedures in compliance withlocal, state, and federal regulations, as well as company standards.Conductingregular safety inspections and audits of the construction site to identifyhazards and potential risks.Collaboratingwith project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to address safety concernsand develop corrective actions.Providingsafety training and orientation for new hires and subcontractors, as well asongoing safety education for all personnel on-site.Monitoringand enforcing the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safetygear.Investigatingincidents, accidents, and near misses, and documenting findings to identifyroot causes and prevent future occurrences.Maintainingaccurate records of safety-related activities, including inspections, trainingsessions, and incident reports.Conductingtoolbox talks and safety meetings to communicate safety updates, bestpractices, and lessons learned.Reviewingand approving subcontractors' safety plans and ensuring compliance withcontractual safety requirements.Servingas the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries, concerns, andemergencies on the construction site.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, construction management, or a related field is preferred.Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification is highly desirable.Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a safety officer in the construction industry.In-depth knowledge of construction safety regulations, codes, and standards.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate safety-related information to diverse audiences.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on proactive risk mitigation.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when necessary.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and safety management software.Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to different construction sites as needed.
