Job Description/Requirements
Other Responsibilities:
? Carry out repairs and maintenance of all mechanical equipment, primarily diesel equipment. Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults.
? Recommend and assist in ordering parts from suppliers.
? Carry out inspections of completed repairs to ensure that the equipment is safe to operate.
? Pulling parts off equipment and tagging them for inventory.
? Inspect and test all mechanical units and maintain an organized neat and safe work area.
? Following a checklist to ensure that all key work has been done as at when due.
? Service all equipment when needed.
? Operate tractors, heavy equipment, and all other machines when needed.
? Following safety policies and procedures.
? Assisting in assembling of equipment including fabrication of agriculture equipment.
? Completing administrative reports on any work performed.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required for the Job:
? Minimum of BSc/HND Diesel Mechanic engineering or any other related certification.
? Five (5) years relevant working experience in the farming or equipment industry.
? Vast knowledge in HSE, Microsoft suits, intranet shuffling, Google sheet, and general computer appreciation.
? Must be willing to work under difficult conditions with a range of personalities and cultures.
? Punctual with a “no excuse” attitude.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience That Will Set You Apart
? Farm equipment experience like setting up implements or maintaining and operating irrigation equipment. Fabrication skills. Welding experience.
? Knowledge in pump repairs and installation.
? Electrical skills or ability to diagnose faults and work with electronic diagnostic readers.
? Experience repairing new vehicles and understanding the electrical systems with newer machines.
? Experience on a major farm, certified dealer shop, or a certified mechanical shop.
? Ability to communicate via email, in person, or over the phone with great efficacy.
? Willingness and ability to work under tight timeline, and flexibility to engage in multiple projects simultaneously.
? Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
? Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to develop and maintain relationships through effective communication.
? Curiosity, critical thinking, and a demonstrated interest to learn.
? Strong management, coaching, problem solving and conflict-resolution skills.
? Highly organized and meticulous about your work as well as your work area.
Remuneration: Salary is commensurate to experience within the range of industry standards. A communication allowance, pension and health insurance are included, and an annual performance-based bonus may be awarded at the discretion of the executive management team.
