Job Summary:

The Director, 3PL Operations is responsible for managing the full 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) relationship. The Children’s Place currently has two Distribution Centers with one 3PL provider – one facility in Brownsburg, IN and the other in Mississauga, Ontario Canada. This leader will work with both TCP internal stakeholders, as well as 3PL onsite and corporate leadership teams, to ensure SLAs are met for receiving, inventory control, quality assurance and shipping. In addition, He/she will own development of reporting mechanisms and analyses that will inform strategic decisions and influence outcomes.
Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities:
Nurture 3PL relationship and improve ways of working and communication across TCP and 3PL corporate and onsite teams in US and Canada facilities.
Ensure strategic alignment on projected inbound/outbound volume forecasts across TCP and 3PL.
Manage inbound delivery appointment and drop schedules to improve flow of inventory from ports to DC and stay under yard container capacity.
Manage inbound/outbound inventory flow to stay under DC on hand inventory capacity.
Manage outbound shipping expectations to ensure aligned with 3PL capacities, especially for Back-to-School and Holiday peaks.
Manage transfers of inventory from 3PL to TCP DCs to ensure most productive inventory on hand in 3PL facilities.
Develop and refine reporting mechanisms to improve end-to-end visibility on flow of merchandise from inbound, processing, storage and shipping across both 3PL facilities.
Forecast and manage packaging supply levels to maintain proper levels.
Manage claim filing process for SLA misses in effort to improve performance.
Ensure key shipping/financial targets are met.
Validate physical infrastructure/systemic processes and provide recommendations on improvements to achieve required capacity targets.
Recommend new or improved methods, techniques and procedures for processing inventory & orders more efficiently.
Establish appropriate meeting cadence and ensure appropriate engagement of cross-functional TCP leaders and teams
Manage special requests and projects to ensure they are completed in the required timeframe
Responsible for costs and being fiscally responsible

Education and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics or similar).
5+ years of experience in distribution operations at a Manager or Director Level (or equivalent).
Proven ability to engage and motivate people of all levels and backgrounds.
Masters or MBA degree is preferred.

Skills and Behavior:
Excellent ability to communicate, including written, verbal and presentation skills.
Comfortable meeting with and presenting to executives and senior leadership.
Ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the organization.
Solid organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Solid planning and problem-solving skills with ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, with particular skills in Excel.
