Details of the offer

About Global Citizen Our mission is to build a movement of 100MM Global Citizens whose actions will help achieve our vision of a world without extreme poverty by 2030.

Global Citizen is a movement of engaged citizens who are using their collective voice to end extreme poverty by 2030. On our platform, Global Citizens learn about the systemic causes of extreme poverty, take action on those issues, and earn rewards for their actions — as part of a global community committed to lasting change.

So far, 24.8 million actions have been taken by Global Citizens, leading to $48.4 billion commitments being made by world leaders, which has affected 880 million lives to date.

In 2018, Global Citizen launched in South Africa through a campaign which culminated in the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 that took place in Johannesburg on December 2nd. Within the space of a year, we carried out our largest and most impactful event ever and built an audience of 282,000 people have joined the movement in South Africa as well as across the continent and continue to take action to compel leaders towards our vision of ending extreme poverty in the next decade.

Following the incredible success of the GCF: Mandela 100 campaign, we have established our presence in the African market with a regional hub in Johannesburg.

Over the next ten years, our ambition is to grow our movement and expand our presence in key emerging markets on the continent - with Nigeria as a priority. In particular, 2020 marks the 5th anniversary of the Global Goals - which Global Citizen has committed to champion - and progress in Africa will be of critical importance.
