Louis Valentino Food and Beverages(POPCY) is a major manufacturer of potato snacks and flavoured drinks. The company was formed in October 2014 to continue the development, manufacturing and marketing of POPCY Potato Crisp and Flavored drinks. These products were formally manufactured and distributed by Harvee Investments Limited before Louis Valentino Nigeria Limited acquired the entire assets of the company including the production lines and the POPCY brands.
Louis Valentino Food and Beverages(POPCY) was established in September 2014 after the parent company Louis Valentino Nigeria Limited bought over the entire assets and manufacturing facilities of Harvee Investment Limited, owner of POPCY Potato Crisp and flavoured drinks.
In September 2014, as part of its business strategies, Louis Valentino Nigeria Limited acquired a manufacturing facility and the entire production line (including product brand) from Harvee Investments Limited. Harvee investment is the former manufacturer of POPCY Potato crisps and flavoured drinks. The Directors of Harvee took a decision to sell the company to a successful Nigeria company who is interested in the manufacturing of foods and beverages products. Since the takeover of the company, Louis Valentino Nigeria Limited has not only sustained the business by continuously producing and retaining all former staff of Harvee Investments, we have also significantly improved the quality of the product and the production capacity. We have also embarked on aggressive sales and marketing drive which has led to growth in revenue.
In addition, we have engaged consultants who have recommended new production technology and equipment's that will be delivered before the third quarter of the year 2015.
As a strategic decision, the Directors of Louis Valentino Nigeria Limited formed a new company called Louis Valentino Foods and Beverages to properly focus on the manufacturing business and develop competencies in production, distribution and marketing to enable the company to achieve the growth projections of the shareholders.
CANDIDATE BRIEF

As the most senior team member, you will have the support behind you to make the changes required to continue to drive this business in a positive direction. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate previous results and clear metrics
You will have a strong food manufacturing background; it would prove to be an advantage to have worked with water, drinks and snacks products.
You will have a track record working closely with the major retailers and have a customer-facing element within your role.
In support of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a dynamic management leader with a depth of experience in the Food & Beverage industry, with a specific focus on the manufacturing and supply chain sectors. In this role, you will oversee the creation and development of a world-class Food & Beverage solution, assisting in taking an exciting, market-leading solution to the next level based on your industry expertise and your contact with customers, prospects, and strategic partners.
With input and support from both Product and Industry leadership, you will be responsible for authoring the Food & Beverage roadmap across all business processes, making recommendations to Sr. Leadership on Go-To-Market strategy and direction, and overseeing the all aspects of the company as we create innovative Food & Beverage products that deliver positive business outcomes to the market.
Working directly within a team of product managers knowledgeable in manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and finance processes, you will contribute specific Food & Beverage vertical industry knowledge including detailed business practices and regulatory standards pertaining to the food and beverage domain. You will advise product specialists as they design specific features, work with product marketing on accurate and compelling industry positioning, and with sales on opportunities as required.
You will provide the industry knowledge and acumen that will continue to engender confidence throughout the organization, customer-base, and marketplace as Popcy continues to develop its brand in this key market. WHAT’S YOUR IMPACT?
Oversee the entire product line life cycle for the Food & Beverage products from strategic planning to product execution and delivery activities, with a focus on manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and finance business processes.
Specify market requirements for current and future products using a mix of personal knowledge, industry research, competitive analysis, and requirements gathering from interactions with customers and prospects
Help drive projects across multiple teams through market requirements, product specifications, positioning, and go-to-market strategy development and execution
Analyze potential partner relationships for the product, make recommendations, and support onboarding of strategic partners
Work with the broader LVP organization to create the content and tools needed to successfully position, sell, implement, and service the product
Identify additional growth areas for Popcy in the Food & Beverage industry, through the identification of sub verticals where we can expand our footprint and drive customer success.
With support from Product Marketing, provide thought leadership in the form of speaking engagements, content creation, and customer/prospect presentations.
Advice Executive and CEO on Food & Beverage trends and make recommendations on strategic direction
IS IT IN YOU?
A bachelor’s degree is required; preferably a BA in Business, or a BSc in engineering or computer science
15+ years within the food and beverage sector with hands-on experience of the various manufacturing and logistics processes, or as a consultant implementing end-to-end systems within the sector
Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing systems within the food and beverage manufacturing sector
Experience as a product manager with a global ERP developer or related companies is highly desirable
Excellent communication and presentation skills
45 Years and above
Resident in Abuja or willing to relocate if chosen
