Job Description
Foundation for the Support of Indigent Communities (FoSIC) is a nongovernmental organization that strengthens efforts to improve the standard of living by building sustainable livelihood means for the indigent and disadvantaged communities in Nigeria.
Since its establishment, FoSIC has endeavored to improve the standard of living at the local level. This is because FoSIC believes in a fair world for everyone. FoSIC therefore, seeks for volunteers who will work passionately towards supporting the organization in carrying out its projects through their endless efforts of fundraising.
The purpose of the fundraising is to accrue funds for the organization so as to ensure uninterrupted implementation of projects on support for the indigent communities in order to improve the social living conditions of the people at the rural areas thereby, mitigating sufferings, saving lives, and creating a safer world for the people at the local level.
Description of Tasks:
The volunteer will be innovative and must be able to come up with original contents/creative ideas to fundraising that will enable the organization implement its projects.
The volunteer will be responsible for publishing contents and social media management that will support the growth of the organization.
The volunteer will be a communication expert both orally and written. The volunteer will therefore, be aligned to the organization's projects and identify strategies for fundraising.
The volunteer will carryout research to identify opportunities for fundraising and also research on potential donors.
Basic Skills Required:
Willingness and capacity to volunteer for FoSIC.
Be knowledgeable on good practice in issues of development in rural communities.
Ability to identify potential opportunities for fundraising, creative thinking and contents promotion to produce materials for communication that appeals to potential donors.
Ability to work with diverse groups, possess good written and oral including interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be goal driven and enthusiastic, possess entrepreneurship skills and proactive towards fundraising.
A team player, willing to work under pressure and committed to working with people from different cultural background.
Possess advance computer skills including social media management.
Basic organizational and management skills.
Innovative and ability to provide solutions to complex issues through sharing learnings, and provide directions for team members.
Passion and commitment towards creating changes for community development and to identify new areas if development.
Degree Level Required:
The applicant must possess a B.A/Diploma in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, and other related fields.
Language Skills:
Fluency in English (mandatory) and a working knowledge of the language where you are based is an added advantage.
Compensation:
Although, FoSIC volunteers stand a chance to enjoy limitless opportunities, therefore, FoSIC will not provide any kind of compensation. Volunteers will be responsible for all expenses such as feeding, transportation, accommodation, etc. FoSIC only provides direct operational expenses such as field visit operations.
