What this position entails
This role isresponsible for:
Supporting the accomplishment of strategic objectives and helping ensure that established financial, operational and compliance practices, and the related controls, are designed and operating effectively.
Ensuring regulatory compliance, safeguarding company assets and improving Peak Living's systems of financial and operational controls.
Providing independent objective insight on governance, risks, controls and compliance.

Additional Responsibilities:
Provide leadership in the vision, development and implementation of an overall Internal Audit strategy.
Develop, implement and execute a risk-based internal audit plan
Leads through understanding risks relevant to audit engagements: Financial, Operational, Information Technology, Environment Health & Safety, etc.
Provide assurance and evaluation of management's governance, risk management, controls and compliance, systems, processes and policies, and procedures to assist senior leadership in their oversight role.
Execute complex audits and assessments, determine the scope of work, conduct the work required to accomplish the audit objectives and then timely communicate the conclusions reached.
Collaborate organization-wide with all levels of staff to perform the audits and assessments and obtain management feedback.
Formulate objective opinions based on audit results.
Leverages audit recommendations by convening staff, management and leadership to facilitate solutions and create management action plans.
Ensure that all management action plans are appropriately resolved.
Supports a culture of ethical values and fraud risk awareness.
Provides guidance and/or consultation related to governance, risk management, and controls to improve financial and operational performance of the business.
Investigates reported accounting, auditing and internal control concerns then proposes measures for resolution.

What You Need
Education and Years of Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting, or related field
4+ years of relevant experience in a combination of public accounting in audit, internal audit, and accounting and finance. Relevant experience in running an audit is also required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Possession of strong financial, analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Advanced communication skills and proven ability to communicate through written reports, presentations, and ability to deliver objective and constructive feedback in a non-threatening way.
Depth of knowledge in generally accepted finance and accounting theory, auditing standards, principles, procedures, and ability to determine emerging risk management concepts and control models.
Strong working knowledge of information technology and its implications for business systems and managing and controlling business operations, auditing information systems and systems designs.
Hands-on, flexible, and results-oriented audit approach.
