Job Description/Requirements
Main duties and responsibilities
Perform checks based on mechanical maintenance plan at established intervals on any engine being serviced by the company
Overhaul and adjust pumps, valves, separators, ventilators etc.
Develop, implement and maintain an effective program of equipment and preventive maintenance work in all TPN locations and client site
Perform equipment inspections to ensure that the equipment is safely maintained and operable
Perform related testing and repair such as valve lash, injector time setting etc. as needed
Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner aiming for maximum reliability
Ensure that any inconsistencies are further investigated and problems are pinpointed exactly
Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to generator or machine users
Keep logs of work and make service report on issues resolved at power plant, client site or TPN workshop
Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and engine components by cleaning, replenishing fluids and applying lubricants to them
Provide professional assistance to expatriate mechanics during all kinds of service related jobs
Ensure availability of parts and supplies by assessing jobs and determining parts that are needed for the job
Ensure all tools provided in assigned tool box is complete and kept clean at all times
Observe all health and safety regulations in accordance with TPN and client’s safety policies and manuals
Perform all work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety and environment regulations
Ensure proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with provided instructions

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in mechanical position
Must possess certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship
A degree in Mechanical Engineering is a must
Must have proven knowledge of how to work with machines, use various hand tools and precision measurement tools
Must possess sound troubleshooting knowledge and skills with ability to find and solve problems quickly
Demonstrate sound technical knowledge in power plant operations for diesel and gas driven engines
Caterpillar engine experience is a must
Ability to use ET for troubleshooting is a must
Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, P&ID illustrations, blueprints etc. is desirable
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Proficient computer knowledge is a plus
Must possess clear and accurate reporting skills
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills with solid attention to detail
