Job Summary:
The photography & graphic design assistant will work with the photo team (manager, coordinator & director of retail & digital photography) on all photo shoot prep & post photo shoot execution for The Children’s Place & Gymboree . This position will play a role in pre-photo shoot planning and post photo shoot deliverables. This position requires polished photoshop & layout skills along with a clean & refined graphic design aesthetic—you will assist the photo team with shot list prep, casting, contact sheets & placing assets in presentation decks that support both retail & digital.
Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
• Assist manager & coordinator of retail & digital photography with photo shoot prep & deliverables for all photo shoots
• Review seasonal retail & digital schematics to identify & cross reference all photography needs
• Review seasonal creative decks to absorb seasonal creative direction & place swipe into shot list for all photo shoots
• Assist manager of retail & digital photography to initiate casting & to cross reference & indicate digital needs
on the shot list
• Updating casting archive, headshots, sizing & assisting the casting director with adding casting to all retail
& digital shot lists
• Assist with prep, layout, distribution & updating contact sheets for retail & digital photo shoots
• Quickly comp together photo selects per direction of Photo Team
• Track presentation feedback & manage updates for follow-up presentations
• Put together post shoot photoshoot decks organized by delivery dates, department, and category to distribute
to digital team for ease of finding approved imagery
• Collaborate with in-store marketing team & store visual team with building the mock store windows
& interior for seasonal walkthroughs. This includes printing photography specific signage & posters to oversize
printers, trimming & installing into windows & interior spaces
• Collaborate with traffic manager to calendarize all photo shoot related deadlines
• Develop creative solutions and implementations that are on target with project objectives
• Ensure that deliverables adhere to creative guidelines and brand standards. Employ graphic and interactive design best practices
• Actively listen to creative critique and demonstrate understanding through successful application to projects.
• Independently follow directions and execute revisions with a high level of accuracy.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Art Direction, Graphic Design, Visual Communications or related field relevant to position.
1 - 3 years of experience in graphic design, retail or agency experience preferred. Must have an interest in photography & art direction.
1 - 3 years of hands-on photo retouching for presentation.
Skills and Behaviors:

Understanding of print production requirements
Software:
Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, InDesign, Bridge, After Effects & XD.
