Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:Verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling accounts payable and receivableProducing error-free accounting reports and present their resultsAnalyzing financial information and summarizing financial statusReview and recommend modifications to accounting systems and proceduresParticipate in financial standards setting and in forecast processProvide input into department’s goal setting processPrepare financial statements and produce budget according to scheduleAssist with tax audits and tax returnsDirect internal and external audits to ensure compliancePlan, assign and review staff’s workSupport month-end and year-end close processDevelop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controlsLiaise with the Managing Director and Human Resource Manager on how to improve financial procedures. Requirements: BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevantMinimum of 3 years proven experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor, or senior accountant (with an IT Sales company is a great advantage)Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and foreign exchangeIn-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Awareness of business trendsFamiliarity with financial accounting statementsExperience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close processHands-on experience with accounting software packages, like FreshBooks and QuickBooksAdvanced MS Excel skillsAccuracy and attention to detail – very crucialAptitude for numbers and quantitative skillsRelevant certification. Monthly Salary Budget: N120,000 – N150,000 / month.
