: Report to the Chief Financial Officer
Job Description:
To assist the CFO in developing, establishing and implementing solid accounting operations,
policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Maintain and update the Inventory Database of the Company.
Work with the CFO to ensure monthly financial reports (Income statement, SFP, and Cashflow
Statement) are prepared on a timely basis.
Support the Company budgeting process.
Ensure proper supporting documents are maintained for accounting and audit purposes.
Support the external audit process of the organization adequately.
Ensure all accounting schedules and registers are accurately maintained to support seamless
month-end closure procedures.
Perform bank reconciliation on a weekly basis, prepare weekly spend analysis by account head
and bank balance report.
Alert Management on poor stock management practices observed and initiate actions to mitigate
possible losses.
Coordinate with the operations department to ensure that all product costs are properly taken in
the cost of sales and inventory costs.
Perform margin analysis by market segment and respective customer and supplier
Responsible for communicating inventory levels and locations to Management.
Coordinate with Store Team to implement and ensure control system to reduce damage, breakage,
short-dating, etc.
Ensure that goods received in the store are matched with the actual invoices from the suppliers
and entered into the inventory management system.
Ensure proper, accurate, timely, and relevant financial records are maintained.
Ensure that there are duly authorized documentary approvals for all data entered into the
Inventory Database.
To ensure effective liaison between the Supply Chain Management Team, Internal Control, Accounts,
and other user departments on matters relating to inventory management.
Handle Goods returned by adjusting such stock item(s) out of the Vendors's Account; printing
the adjusted Vendor’s invoice and passing the same to the Store and the
Accounts Department.
Support annual physical inventory process store network
Work closely with Procurement, Store and Field Management to assure proper inventory control and
accounting practices.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Desired Qualities
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 0-1 year(s) of cognate Accounting experience.
Must be writing a professional Accounting exam (preferably in the final stage of ICAN/ACCA).
Ability to learn fast is critical to the incumbent of this role
Good understanding accounting principles is non-negotiable
Good problem solving and decision-making skills
Average in the usage of Microsoft Office Suite
Experience in the use of Accounting system
Demonstrate a solid knowledge of IFRS
Good communications skills
