A leading Christian Secondary School is looking for a Financial Accountant/Assistant Bursar to join our team in Ogun state.
Job Description
The Financial Accountant is a departmental head within the Bursary department and has primary responsibility for leading the Accounting and Tax Management processes in the school. The position reports directly to the Bursar assisting on all matters of Financial book closing with oversight responsibility for the work of the Stock Controller. The Financial Accountant is the Assistant Bursar of the School and will always act in the absence of the Bursar.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Tax Management
Balance Sheet Analysis
Bank Reconciliations
Accounts Payables Management & Invoice Passing Controls.
Tax Planning and Liaison with Tax & Regulatory Authorities
Supervisory Responsibility:
Accounts Receivables Management
Cost Analysis and Stock Management
Directly Responsible for:
Cost Variance Management
Supervisory Responsibility:
GRN & SIN Controls of all School Stores/Warehouses
Stock Reconciliations
Cost & Variance Analysis
Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledgers; prepare and analyze budgets and perform general bookkeeping.
Requirements
B.Sc. degree in Accounting, Business or an equivalent relevant degree.
Professional Certification: Qualified ACCA; ACMA; ACA
Minimum 8 years of managerial experience preferably in a school or in the manufacturing sector.
Must have previous knowledge in the use of Accounting/ERP Packages and Spreadsheets (MS Excel).
In-depth understanding of Accounting Standards and book closing procedures
Good emotional intelligence with demonstrable people management skills
Excellent team management, organizational and analytical skills.
High sense of honesty and integrity.
