Isidore Newman School is looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional in the field of strength and conditioning to lead the school's High Performance Program. This highly qualified educator and coach will play a significant role within the Athletic and Physical Education Departments at Isidore Newman School.
This educator will
Apply scientific knowledge to design and implement general and sport specific strength and conditioning programs for all of our upper school student athletes and physical education students. The goal of these workouts is to improve performance and to prevent injuries.
Provide necessary guidance to our student athletes on nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices.
Promote wellness throughout our student athlete population while setting a tone forinclusivity.
Work with student athletes who have a diverse set of athletic abilities and levels of interest.
Believe deeply in the value ofestablishing high expectationswhile alsocultivating strong relationshipswith our student athletes, coaches and physical education teachers.
Have at least three years of experience working in the strength and conditioning field and at the high school or university level.
Demonstrate the technical knowledge of basic kinesiology, exercise programming, and exercise physiology.
Highly committed to being flexible with class and instruction schedules, working with a variety of coaches and student athletes, and highly focused on the overall well-being and wellness of the student athlete.
Assist the Sports Medicine Staff with rehabilitation and injury prevention.
Have the appropriate licensing and accreditations. ACSCS, or comparable license, is required.

The High Performance instructor will focus on
Improving the strength, speed, power, agility, etc. of our student athletes and physical education students while also focusing on the prevention of injuries.
The instruction and supervision of proper lifting and exercise techniques.
Advising student athletes and physical education students on proper nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices.
Motivating our student athletes and physical education students by getting to know them and what intrinsically and extrinsically motivates them.
Maintaining regular contact with the sport head coaches, and the sports medicine staff regarding the progress of student athletes
Educating our coaches and Physical Education teachers in the very best strength and conditioning practices. This will be done through training, ongoing Professional Development, and effective collaboration.
Implementing an appropriate assessment tool for the student athletes and physical education students which is in line with the vision and expectations of both the Athletic and Physical Education Departments.
