Job Description
Sales Executive analyses local market trends and competitor activity to generate new future business for the hotel.
The job incumbent should be active, proactive, and achieve results.
Able to work on his/her own and take responsibility for all tasks at hand.
All work is carried out in line with the overall hotel guidelines and service concepts.
Detailed Roles & Responsibilities
? Market Identification & Evaluation
? Analysis local market trends and competitor activity to identify new business leads
? Develop customer accounts and travel within the local area to drive business into the specific hotel/cluster and to increase market/customer share in all revenue streams
? Negotiate room rates/packages with corporate clients
? Prepare sales activity reports including sales volume, potential sales, market trend and areas of proposed client-base expansion and present to management.
? Prepare company contracts for the hotel in accordance with current business and pricing conditions
? Work within current business strategies and recognizing potential opportunities
? Cooperate with other departments in the hotel to create an exceptional Guest experience and build strong, comprehensive sales programs
? Attend Sales events, as required
? Produce accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of the Sales Director and senior management to include the reporting of appointments, calls made and business leads
? Answer customer queries in a prompt and professional manner
? Represent company at trade association, franchise, and community meetings and events as appropriate.
? Recognize emerging market opportunities and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
Corporate Clients
? Profile corporate clients to determine potential business for local and international travel
? Book groups and local negotiated rates in the booking systems, ensure proper identification of accounts, coordinate with hotels for proper capture of customer information and data, work with hotels to provide company and brands' signature guest experience and image. Contract companies travelling internationally and issue relevant rates
? Arrange property inspections for relevant secretaries/ in-house travel agents
Tour Operators/ Travel Agents
? Service existing client base face to face as per call rotation
? Source brochure participation
? Arrange property inspections as required to increase product knowledge
Lead Laws, Regulations & Policies
? Follows all applicable laws with regards to health, safety, and security of employees and guests
Employee Relations
? Fosters and develops effective employee relations with the line manager and team members.
? Attends training and daily meetings to ensure optimum information flow, teamwork and productivity;
? Socially Responsible Business: show involvement and be interested in environmental and/or social issues by participating in Socially Responsible Business activities as this will assist in presenting the hotel as a reputable brand to prospective clients
Health & Safety
? Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported and reduced immediately
? Is proficient with the hotel’s fire, emergency, and bomb procedures
? Stimulates and encourages a general awareness of health and safety
? Looks for possible and probable hazards and conditions and brings them to the attention of the Executive Housekeeper
? Keeps a high standard of personal hygiene, dress, appearance, body language and conduct
