About The Role
We are seeking a transformational, strategic and innovative human to lead and oversee global talent acquisition, operations and analytics for all corporate functions.
You will be responsible for optimizing the global talent acquisition strategies, brand building, process improvement and growing the capabilities/efficiencies of our Staff Recruiting team.
You will shape the future of talent acquisition by building a high volume talent acquisition org.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial and Team Leadership:
Cultivate a high-performing recruiting organisation – with an emphasis on building a best in the class technology team.
Lead the Staff Recruiting team to hire high-quality talent, consistently hitting targets Drive initiatives that inspire an insight-driven approach to talent acquisition effectively at all levels of the organization across the uniquely cross-cultural Andela environment.
Create and manage annual and quarterly operational planning process; working collaboratively with cross-functional leaders.
Plan and deploy the infrastructure and architecture of our global staff recruiting engine.
Design and implement employer branding, recruitment marketing using industry best practice and data-driven strategies
Provide direct support and coaching to your team as they help their direct reports through possible transitions and strategy changes
Ensure quality is a priority at all times and enable your team to keep this at the top of their minds
Connect engineers to compelling learning and development opportunities, mentorship, coaching for performance and growth, advising on career opportunities
Support leaders and managers on talent mapping and reviews to ensure the implementation of recommendations from the Talent Development team.
Develop and implement workforce retention, career and succession strategies.
Coach, Inspire, Influence:
Nurturing, coaching and mentoring engineers and managers within your pod as well as more junior Engineering Experience team members.
Works in partnership with leaders to provide challenge, legal guidance and advice in dealing with difficult people issues in a fair, straightforward manner and without delay. Serve as an escalation point for your pod and your direct reports
Relationships, Collaboration:
Build and maintain healthy relationships with key stakeholders
Coach leaders/managers on proper management and communication practices.
Work closely and effectively with other cross-functional HRBP’s, People operations and Centres of excellence teams to identify best practice and use it to define effective business interventions.
Share knowledge and insights with the wider People team to help shape best practise and ensure business goals are in line with the org-wide strategy
Qualifications & Characteristics
Our Ideal candidate should tick the following boxes:
Entrepreneur and a self-starter
Lead heart first, care deeply about both people and outcomes
A University degree and an HR certification
4-7yrs in-house or recruitment agency full-lifecycle recruiting experience;
Be aligned with, and able to see a link between their role and the company’s overall mission
Solid experience managing teams and leading them to a world-class status;
Have experience leading and scaling recruiting teams;
Must be self-aware and an awesome people person; leveraging relationship management to achieve desired results;
Ability to inspire, lead and drive people to happily exceed expectations;
Have a combination of a service-oriented and data-driven approach;
Be familiar with ATS/CRM systems, Spreadsheets (ideally Google Suite);
Be well versed in active sourcing (through Boolean and social media);
Have curiosity about how to improve efficiency in attracting top candidates from across Rwanda and neighbouring sites;
Be motivated to relentlessly and consistently engage and follow-up with prospective candidates and referrers;
Be passionate about mentorship/development of junior colleagues;
Have clarity when describing the company's business model and value-add to a technical and lay audience;
Be creative in expanding the ecosystem for sourcing top talent for Andela;
Be an adaptable self-starter and able to work independently with some ambiguity and develop process and structure as needed.
Focused on ethical leadership and doing the right thing even when it’s hard.
Ability to create effective working partnerships with key stakeholders that enable you to execute effectively
Strong interest in leveraging data to inform decisions (don’t worry if you aren’t an expert we have some of those!)
Demonstrated ability in developing and executing across the employee lifecycle for a rapidly scaling population of 100+
Experience in a challenging, changing, complex business environment with a special focus on multiculturalism (and internationalism).
Knowledge of in-country employment regulations, e.g. Country labour/employee relations statutes and capacity to apply them
